What exactly is a Stroke ?

We all heard the word Stroke at least once in our life but there are very few of us who know what it really is.
A stroke is an infraction of the brain which happen for the same reason that comes to heart when there is a lack of blood flow to heart reagion and has the heart-attack.
Stroke is a kind of vascular damage that cause the alteration of blood into the brain's region.
Stroke can come in two different ways : it can be hemorrhagic, like for example it is for a raptured aneurysm or it could also come from cerebral ischemia.
The World Health Organisation ( WHO ) defines stroke such as : " A Neurological deficit of cerebrovascular cause that persists beyond 24 hours or is interrupted by death within 24 hours ".

What is going to happen after a Stroke ?

As you already know, the brain is the organ for mental and cognitive functions, therefore a Stroke alters all the cognitive processes that let to build the body movements. In fact, after a stroke the most common consequence for half of the body is a motorial palsy also known as Hemiplegia.
Assessing the outcome of a Stroke is a delicate matter for the rehabilitation and Physiotherapists because in order to recover the body movements it is necessary to restore the cognitive processes that had settled the body movements.

Stroke Rehabilitation

The types of Rehabilitation Treatments for cerebrovascular accidents are many and often messed up; so you should bare in mind that before choosing any treatment you have already learned that

"Stroke causes damage to the brain and not to the muscle ! "

We have to direct the Rehabilitation Work to the brain's function and into the brain.

Neurocognitive Rehabilitation also known as Perfetti Method is the best solution for post- stroke and hemiplegia recovery.

It is the only method that takes into consideration the restoration of the cognitive processes, which after stroke are really important information for restoring the brain.
  • It creates different exercises for different stroke outcomes.
  • Its method is based on scientific studies.
